Two days and counting...

Christmas Eve is tomorrow, and although there are many, many presents to be wrapped, a house to be cleaned, and groceries to be bought, I am feeling a sense of peace and maybe even a bit of magic. Two little boys can do that to you - foot steps have already been confirmed on our roof!

We have been busy this past week, baking cookies and gingerbread houses. Baking is one of the sweetest parts of the season for me and I am thrilled that I have two little helpers.

Snowflakes and sledding

Today is our first day of holiday break, and we were greeted by fresh snow! We woke up to Jack yelling, "Look outside! Look outside!"

We started the day with a visit to our sledding hill and invited a few of Jack's buddies.

The big boys loved the snow, but Henry could do without it. He prefers to watch from inside.

We are looking forward to our next couple of weeks at home with the kids - many Christmas preparations are ahead of us!

Lucky.

I felt lucky today.

Lucky, to wake up to the first snowfall.

Lucky, knowing that Jack would be in heaven all day outside.

Lucky, that we could smell the cold winter air - together - because it was Sunday, and we didn't have four separate ways to part.

How lucky to have such a beautiful day fall on such a quiet day - where we had no errands to run, no where to be but here.

With each other... and the dogs - how they must have felt lucky too.
